Blazin'

Blazer- Antony Morato| Shirt & Jeans- Zara | Shoes- Sperry Top-sider |Watch- TKO

Sometimes wearing a pop of color is only necessary when taking a stroll on a beautiful night in the heart of Israel, Jerusalem. The nightlife in Israel is a bit different then NY, and by a bit different I mean incomparable. Antony Morato constructed the perfect lightweight summer blazer, suitable for a labor-day weekend in the Hamptons, that fits like a glove, although it's a blazer. I paired my cotton and linen blended red blazer with a black deep crew neck shirt and a pair of Zara's white slim jeans, an end-of-summer staple. Moving on to the shoes. After long hours of contemplation, I finally figured out why Sperry Top-sider has an adorable pup in almost all their ads. Because Sperrys, like a dog, are a man's best friend, including these black patent leather  ones, which travel with me everywhere I go. Finally, planning on taking the weekend off to rejuvenate and mentally prepare myself for the New York Fashion Week mayhem, that begins next week. Happy Labor Day weekend folks!

White, Navy & Ancient Stones

Blazer, Jeans, T-Shirt- ZaraShoes- To Boot New York Shades- H&M

Although this wasn't my first (or second or third) visit to the promised land, this last experience has really made me appreciate the country and everything it really has to offer, including the landscape. You see, when you're shooting in a city that is known to be one of the most ancient cities in the world, you can't help, but continue to wander and explore the city to find the perfect backdrop. I decided to shoot up on a street that overlooks parts of Jerusalem so you can have a glimpse of the beautiful ancient city. Now let's talk about the outfit. The elbow patches trend has made a huge come back this summer, and plans to follow through this Fall. I got this navy blazer with white leather elbow patches from Zara awhile back and never had the opportunity to wear it. Instead of styling this blazer with a typical button down shirt, I decided to pair it with a deep crew neck shirt instead, which helps makes my formal look, not so formalStyle Tip: Navy and ancient stones work perfectly together.

INSTA- ISRAEL PART II

Photos via @TheMetroMan

Happy Friday kids! The main purpose of The Metro Man is to create content for the reader and for them to take away something from it, whatever that might be. It could be a style tip, a new favorite designer, something culturally related, etc. Therefore, I wanted to share with you guys my Instagram photos that will help you learn a thing or two about Israel. I wanted to not only share with you my outfits while I was away, but the culture, delectable delights, scenery and art that the country has to offer. If you plan on visiting Israel anytime soon, I urge you to visit GREG cafe, (refer to photo 2), oh and I will be waiting for a hand written thank you note upon your arrival back. Moving on... Although no state or country in the world can compare to the beautiful street art we have in NYC, Israel does have a few noteworthy murals, especially in Tel-Aviv. Lastly, before I conclude and allow you to go on with the rest of your day, did you know that Tim Tam, AKA God's gift to this world, which is originally from Australia, is sold in Israel? Another reason why I may flea the US and go on and live out there.

Summer Knits

Top- Diesel| Jeans- Zara
 Shoes- Sperry-Topsider  Shades- Antony Morato

Although Israel, during daylight hours, doesn't require, and by doesn't require I mean AVOID wearing, any type of sweater, the nights tend to be chilly and wearing a summer knitted sweater is only necessary. While everyone else was busy thinking of tees and tanks, I was busy searching for the perfect summer knit, like this striped Diesel knitted sweater from their F/W collection. What I admire most about this sweater is its versatility and how one is able to wear this sweater during any season they prefer. I paired my striped knit with a simple pair of white denim, that way the main focus of the outfit would be on the sweater. I topped the outfit with a pair of brown shoes with blue soles by Sperry Top-Sider. Lastly, I finished the look with a pair of blue Anthony Morato aviator shades, which grab my face like no other pair. It's Thursday, the weekend is only one day away!

GO-TO BACKPACK

Top- Antony Morato| Shorts- Topman
Shoes- Antony Morato  Bag- Herschel Supply Co.

Israel's landscape is a bit different from what I'm use to back home. Simply, the country lacks tall sky scrappers and is made up of mountains, hills and more mountains, which means you must ditch your NYC messenger bag for a ready-to-hike backpack. Naturally, I thought of Herschel Supply Co. the only backpack company I would wear post high school days. The details on the navy bag helps create the modern feel like the exposed metal zipper and leather zipper pulls. I paired my backpack with a grey lightweight short-sleeved sweater by Antony Morato and rolled up dark blue denim shorts,I mean is there any other way to wear them? Lastly, the reason why my Herschel Supply Co. bag is so amazing is because it not only offers great details it offers top-notch quality including durability, and in fashion that goes a long way.

INSTA-ISRAEL PART I

Photos via @TheMetroMan

21 days later and I'M BACK! Instead of sharing an ordinary personal style outfit post, I decided to kick off the week by sharing with you a glimpse from my most recent visit to Israel with a few of my favorite Instagram photos. The past three weeks I've seen and experienced Israel like no other, from camel riding in the desert to staying up to catch the sunrise in the Masada. Israel has it's pros and cons, just like any other place on the map, however what I love most about the country is although it might be as big as the New Jersey State, the country offers many mind blowing sites and scenes, as you can tell from the photos above. Israel has been an amazing experience, no doubt about that, but I'm glad to be back in NYC, a place I will forever call home. Stay tune this week for a series of posts I like to call "What I Wore in Israel." Oh, and Special thanks to Israel for supplying an awesome backdrop.
